Feeling French Floral Arranging

A few weeks ago, Krista and I went to a "Feeling French" floral arranging class hosted by Maura, owner of Casablanca Floral, Oooh La La!  We had the best time and learned some simple tricks for creating gorgeous French inspired designs.

Tip Number One: Make it asymmetrical

I know, I thought if you put a rose on the left, you needed one on the right, but this style of arranging is more free-flowing and less structured.

Tip Number Two: Divide your arrangement into three sections

This was extremely helpful as I designed my piece.  Think about creating three vignettes with a single piece.  If you look at your arrangement as having three separate sections, you can work on each to create separate focal points within your design.

Tip Number Three: Consider movement

A cascade of dogwood flowing down one side, or a sprig of Smoke Bush jetting off to the left, movement gives each piece its own unique life.
