Friday Favorites – Kate
Hip Hip Hooray for my favorite day! Here is everything I’m gushing over for Friday Favorites and the beginning of September.
What I am Reading
I devoured the latest novel by Jojo Moyes. Remember her? She wrote Me Before You , The New York Times Best Seller which was made into a movie in 2016. Her most recent novel follows Sarah, a teenager living with her grandfather, through a series of tragic events that force her to make bold and sometimes dangerous decisions. This novel is about love, courage, and life-altering circumstances. When Sarah and her horse finally make it to the end of her journey in France, I got a little teary-eyed; the scene is so beautifully written!
What I am Loving
This summer I LOVED Les Mills Body Flow, a fitness class that combines yoga, Pilates, and Tai Chi. It is all about flexibility, strength, and balance. The best part–the last ten minutes of class you get to lay down on your mat, close your eyes, and breathe. It is such a treat, like exercise dessert! After a week of hurricanes and earth quakes, we all need to take a deep breath.
What I am Excited About
I feel like fall sweaters and sassy leather boots are just around the corner. The thought of warm flannel and not need to shave my legs to accommodate a sun dress does make me a bit giddy, but what I’m really excited about is the return of This is Us which premiers on NBC September 26th. If you didn’t fall in love with this show last year, binge watch it now! Hurry, you can still catch up before the new season starts!
The amazing cast of This is Us!
Who is Impressing Me
Carol Jacobson is hair stylist based right here in Redmond, Washington. She has written an amazing book of poems, Dancing on the Edge: Clearly I have Issues, available now on Amazon. The book cover is gorgeous and the poems are equally stunning. I could not be more impressed.
What I am Grateful For
Today I am grateful I do not live in Texas, Florida, Southern Mexico, or any of the islands in the path of Hurricane Irma. The natural disasters in these locations are heart breaking. Hummingbird and Holly hopes everyone stays safe, hangs on, and has courage. Our hearts are with you.
